Formerly known as Planned Giving Round Table of Arizona
A significant gap exists between what today’s volunteers are looking for and the kinds of volunteer experiences nonprofits are offering. This gap is even more prevalent with today’s Baby Boomers. Over the next twenty years, 1.3 million “Baby Boomers” in Maricopa County will be over sixty. This baby boom generation always did things a little differently – they changed society, changed the workplace and changed the world. Now, they are changing how people view the second half of their lives and more importantly how they are giving back to the community. This has significant impact on the way nonprofit organizations recruit, train, retain and communicate with their paid and unpaid workforce. To get the most from Boomers, you need to rethink who they are and how to engage them… then will they increase their financial giving!
Sally Clifford, Program Director at Experience Matters will share how they help nonprofits close that gap through new models in volunteerism and best practices to engaging Baby Boomers and beyond. In this session, we will explore changing paradigms and new trends in volunteerism, leading practices in volunteer engagement and provide some real life examples of how organizations have implemented these leading practices to their build capacity. You’ll come away with practical tips and strategies to create an environment for these volunteers to be successful.
